Most of the time it won’t matter if you send a release because if they are being tough about reading, then they will have their own release. It is standard to get a number of them back. The idea is that sometimes they get through for whatever reason.

I highly recommend developing yourself in the area of following up with phone calls after you have sent the letter. It is a challenge to get “in” and you need to have as many tools as you can to try to get through. You can use the list you have as a starting point for whom to call.

Unsolicited material is such a tricky thing and can be a slippery slope. Honestly there is no singularly correct answer that I have found. With some agencies and offices you may want to ask them what the process to submit is, and they may then send you a release and you can sometimes submit that way. Silly thing is you can sometimes do something as simple as write “requested material” on the front of what you mail in and people will then open it. It’s such a random business that we want to be apart of.

Yes, Cosmos. Balance as you speak of it is all part of the flow of life. I do not see failure or breakdowns as something to avoid — those things are all part of the flow, the balance. They are indeed teachers.

I use “positive energy” to indicate “light” energy, distinct from dark, heavy energy that comes from being identifed with the ego, gossip, and bad news. “Positive energy” as I intend it points to the ebb and flow of life, the natural give and take in growth or the natural back and forth energy of the pendulum swinging — which you may be calling balance.

In hopes of not sparking a terribly intense debate, I’ll add caveat to your this post.
With a name like Cosmos it’s almost a requirement that I know a lot about the universe and it’s something I’ve taken on full force. Based on many years of very thoughtful study, including religious, philosophical, and scientific research; something that I can speak about without reservation is the true mission of G.O.D. (great organized discovery), the Universe, Allah, or whatever else you may choose to call the firmament in and all around us.
The Universe is about balance and being in balance. From our internal lives to the nature of the planets in the heavens you will see that everything is constantly working towards being balanced. On a personal (human) level it can sometimes be frustrating because while the Universe is always in balance, it is not always in balance in our perception. Moreover, the moment that we become balanced as an individual we go through a quantum leap of evolution and then have to start all over getting back into balance.
The balance in our lives comes from equilibrium of four areas; our physical being: which includes our health, our fitness, and our physical place in the world; our emotional being: which is centered about the emotional relationships in our life, intimate love, familial love, and love for the community/world around us; our mental/wealth: which is our collection of knowledge and learning as well as financial liberty in our lives; and finally our spiritual being: which is not about worship necessarily, instead more about our contribution to our community, the world, etc.
So the relevance and reason that I mention this is because there are many times when we feel like we’ve finally gotten it all together and then all of the sudden life explodes all over again. That’s not failure that is success. And the wonderful opportunity that sits ahead of you is to balance yourself all over again. It’s a constant and wonderful process of growth and so the “warning” for lack of a better word is to not necessarily focus so much on positive energy as it is on balanced energy in the world and in your life.
