My Target Outcome

By tatsugin

So after many hours of pouring over our assignment I believe I’m ready to share with everyone.

So for this 90 Challenge my target outcome is to become a working Writer/Director within the next 90 days. The Quantifiable Measure of this outcome would be that I have representation that is excited about having me as a client and excited about my work, such that they actively seek new projects for me and avenues for my existing work to be seen. I will know that I have reached this goal on a qualitative level because the days I spend creating as either a Director or a Writer will not be clouded by concerns of employment because my creative time will be financially compensated.

The daily practice that I have put into place is to actively promote myself and my work and to complete each of my existing projects in excellence. The step I took towards that yesterday was to send out over 200 emails and to call over 100 people and invite them to attend the screening of my film this weekend. Additionally, with the assistance of our mentor, I was able to post and invitation to all of you on our new blog. Additionally a second daily practice will be to share in the blog what steps I’ve taken towards promoting myself and my work in hopes that my teammates (all of you) will comment on whether or not they feel what I’m working on is effect and offer suggestions as to how I can possibly better focus my energies and ultimately be more effective in my marketing process.

    Awesome, Cosmos!

    Way to be on top of it. A major aspect of making things happen is to be in touch with people ongoingly and consistently.

    I look forward to hearing about the various actions that you are taking. Also, especially listen for the spark of an insight on something to do — like when an idea comes to you — ACT ON IT!

    Thanks Melody;
    Your comment was very interesting and is exactly what I did today. Last night when I was looking at some new DVD’s, I had purchased I happened to notice Peter Travers name, who reviews films for Rolling Stone Magazine. Seeing his name inspired me that something that would be very helpful to my Target Outcome would be if I were to contact national film critics at Newsweek, Time, Esquire, Men’s Vogue, both Ebert and Roeper, and several other prominent critics and ask them if they would take the time to watch my short film and allow to put any of their positive comments about my film in my press kit. The other step I took today was I began designing the DVD cover for my movie. That’s all for today I’m off to the festival.

    That is awesome! So much happens and gets stirred up “out there” when you take actions on the insights.

    Do you have software to help with your DVD cover, or how are you doing it?

    Good luck at the festival!

    Hi Cosmos, I hope your screening went well. I thank you for the invitation to attend, but unfortunately I am too far away. – Go get those reviews! Sella

    To answer your software question, I am using Photoshop. I don’t know how to use it, so I’m learning “on the job” I’m actually basically done with the project, I’m waiting to see if I can get some reviews for my film so that I can fill up some of the empty space. :)
